Methodology
This guide was checked on November 7, 2026. Every season date, fee, and legal summary is tied to a page or PDF from the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the Wisconsin DNR, or the Michigan DNR. The sources page lists them. Claim-level links sit under the paragraphs they support.
If a 2026–27 detail was not on the page that was read, it is not filled in from an older season. Older rules are not presented as current. Where a document is ambiguous, the page says so and sends you to the official text.
What was checked
- The Game Commission’s final 2026–27 season announcement and the 2026–27 Hunting & Trapping Digest.
- Pennsylvania license-type fees, the antlerless license page, HuntFishPA, and the hunter-education course page.
- Wisconsin’s Fall 2026–Spring 2027 deer season table, licensing page, fee table, weapons page, orange rule, GameReg instructions, baiting page, and three property pages.
- Michigan’s 2026 Deer Hunting Regulations Summary, season calendar, harvest-reporting page, elk regulations, state-forest pages, and the state game-area list.
- Official map PDFs for State Game Lands 13, 57, and 100. Acreage on those cards comes from the PDFs. A public query of the PGC map service that day returned no features, so the acres were not remeasured from live GIS.
What was not guessed
- No statewide “you may hunt today” judgment. The planner only reports overlap with published windows.
- No harvest totals, odds claims, hunting-pressure indexes, or rut forecasts.
- No live antlerless-license inventory. Pennsylvania’s guaranteed resident round ended at 7 a.m. on July 13, 2026. What remains in November is a question for HuntFishPA.
- Pennsylvania’s digest states a 10-day report for mentored hunters taking an antlered deer. A single deadline for every other deer license was not found in the text reviewed, so none is invented.
- The 125-pound Pennsylvania crossbow figure is printed in the regular-firearms arms list. The archery bullet does not repeat it.
- A sentence in the Pennsylvania digest says regular-firearms arms can be used in “these seasons,” between the October muzzleloader heading and the special-season headings. That sentence is not treated as clearance to use a centerfire rifle in October.
- Wisconsin’s muzzleloader dates are published. The season table does not, in one sentence, name the license product for those dates. The guide does not invent the pairing.
- Extended archery counties, holiday-hunt counties, and CWD zone maps are linked, not redrawn.
- Michigan baiting rules are not copied county by county.
- Pigeon River Country is described as 109,000 acres on the state-forests page and as covering over 110,000 acres in the elk regulations. Both figures are shown. Neither is a survey.
- Map pins are OpenStreetMap centers of the named public area. They are labeled approximate. They are not parking lots, boundaries, or permission to enter private land.
- Kettle Moraine’s hunting page did not state a vehicle-sticker rule in the text reviewed. Black River and Flambeau did. The sticker is stated only where it was read.
- Property hours of 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on some Wisconsin forests may conflict with legal shooting hours. The conflict is flagged, not resolved.
This build
The site is a static export for Cloudflare Pages. It has no account system, no payment, and no paid map or data API. This production build allows indexing, lists https://whitetailhuntinginfo.com/sitemap.xml, and sets a canonical URL on each page. A preview build, with NEXT_PUBLIC_SITE_MODE left unset, stays noindex.
The logo is the approved forest-green shoulder-mount silhouette. Background pixels near the original ivory were made transparent so the mark can sit on the page. The silhouette was not redrawn.
